Security forces apprehended three individuals and seized nearly 11kg of raw opium near the India-Myanmar border in Manipur's Churachandpur district. The contraband was discovered hidden in two two-wheelers during a routine check at the Behiang check post. The arrested individuals and seized items have been handed over to the police for further legal proceedings.

Imphal: Security forces seized nearly 11kg of raw opium and apprehended three individuals allegedly involved in trafficking the contraband during an operation near the India-Myanmar border in Manipur’s Churachandpur district, police said on Wednesday.According to police sources, the Assam Rifles found the contraband hidden in two two-wheelers on Tuesday while checking at the Behiang check post under Behiang Police Station.Two mobile phones were also seized during the raid.The three arrested individuals have been identified as Thangkhanthawng (33) of Kannan Veng, Churachandpur district; Limminthang alias L Khongsai (34) of Moreh Ward No 9, currently residing at Tuibong, Churachandpur; and Thangjalet alias Letneu (31) of K Nivangphai village in Churachandpur district.All three accused, along with the seized contraband and items, have been handed over to Behiang Police Station for further legal action.
